Call for freelancers

A festival isn’t complete without the help of our fabulous freelancers. Are you a freelancer working in events? Then we might have a place for you on board of the Wonderland team.




Are you an experienced freelancer working in one of the following: 

  • Artist handling
  • Creative
  • Production: build and break

Volunteers

  • We wouldn’t be anywhere without our passionate volunteers! Are you curious about what goes on behind the scenes at Wonderland Festival? We are welcoming people that would like to volunteer during our events for upcoming summer and indoor events. 

    We need people for several positions such as working in the run-up to, during and/or after events for assistance in building/break down, catering, decoration, office and administration.

Internship

At Verknipt and Wonderland we love giving interns the chance to gain experience in the event industry! Unfortunately, the internships for the period starting from January/February have already been fulfilled, but we will be hiring new interns again in the future.

VERKNIPT is an event organization focusing on (hard) techno, industrial techno and other rave music. We host indoor and outdoor events throughout the year at different venues, booking well-known artists and introducing our visitors to new ones. Our office is located in Weesp, near the train station. In addition to Verknipt, we also host the yearly indoor and outdoor events of Wonderland Festival, in which we can put our otherworldly creativity. 

 

Verknipt was founded in 2012, but within a short time Verknipt has become a well-known name in the Netherlands. We are known for our amazing laser shows and the good vibe among the ravers! In recent years Verknipt has made its mark throughout the country. With many events such as Verknipt ADE, Verknipt Festival, Verknipt anniversaries, Hard Techno Specials, the NYE/NYD editions, Wonderland Festival, Wonderland Festival Indoor and many more, we have captured the hearts of many techno and house fans. Our vision is: “Nothing is mandatory, everything is possible”.

Who do we look for?  

  • You are an energetic and social person with confident communication skills;
  • You are a proactive person, are solution-oriented and come up with new concepts easily; 
  • Experience with working at events & social media is a pré;
  • You are very passionate about techno music and events/festivals;
  • You are proficient in creative writing and you like to think ‘out of the box’;
  • You are familiar with the social media channels Facebook, Instagram & TikTok, and you know how to use these channels strategically;
  • You speak, write and communicate Dutch and the English language fluently;
  • You don’t have the traditional 9 to 5 mentality;
  • You are an HBO/WO student in the direction of Communications, Creative Business, Marketing, Event Management, Commercial Economics or Social Media.

 

Your tasks will include: 

  • Managing our social media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok & email); 
    • Brainstorming about new content ideas; 
    • Choosing the right content to post on our channels;
    • Editing video content; 
    • Writing persuasive copy to match the posts;  
    • Request content from our designer;
    • Working on the marketing planning and scheduling posts;
    • Hosting giveaways, and coming up with new ways to encourage user-generated content;
    • Helping visitors by answering their online questions;
    • Increasing the engagement and our online reach;
    • Assistance in creating our mailings/ newsletters;
  • Updating our Spotify, YouTube & Soundcloud channels; 
    • Uploading recorded sets to our SoundCloud & YouTube;
    • Cutting snippets from our YouTube videos to post on social media; 
    • Updating and promoting our Spotify playlists; 
    • Searching our music libraries for good songs for TikTok; 
  • Shooting videos for socials at our events;
    • Experience the artists & show from up close;
    • Learning what you need to be a good content creator at events;
    • Making awesome videos of the artists and their performances;
    • Working together with the laser technicians to create the best videos of the show;
    • Creating TikTok content with our visitors; 
  • Being a part of the creative process of the look, feel and experience of our events; 
  • Learning what goes on behind the scenes at our events;
  • Arranging the guest lists, sending tickets, refunds etc.;
  • Supporting the production & artist handling team before, during and after our events;
  • Getting a chance to learn or see everything from A to Z around the organization of events; 
  • Not being a typical intern. You will be fully involved in the organization, so no coffee making for others;
  • Working in a team with like-minded young people! 

Who do we look for?  

  • You are an energetic and social person with confident communication skills;
  • You are a proactive person, are solution-oriented and come up with new concepts easily; 
  • You are very passionate about techno music and events/festivals;
  • You are socially proactive and are not afraid to make phone calls or speak/discuss with people you don’t know yet;
  • You can stay calm in stressful situations;
  • You work accurately and are very precise;
  • You speak, write and communicate Dutch and the English language fluently;
  • You don’t have the traditional 9 to 5 mentality;
  • Experience with working at events & social media is a pré;
  • You can work independently on tasks but also can work well in a team;
  • You are an HBO/WO student in the direction of Leisure/Hospitality & Event Management, Communications & Commercial Economics.

 

Your tasks will include: 

  • Learning what goes on behind the scenes at our events;
  • Being part of the artist handling team and support with all tasks that come along with artist handling & advancing, such as:
    • Staying in contact with the booking agencies of artists;
    • Processing contracts, riders and invoices;
    • Booking hotels, flights etc.;
    • Making driver schedules for the transfers for artists;
    • Arranging guest lists and processing data into our advancing systems;
    • Working at our events as an (artist) runner, stage manager, behind the artist check-in/accreditation desk or other artist handling/event jobs;
  • Supporting the production process before, during and after our events;
    • Being a part of the creative process of the look, feel and experience of our events; 
    • Staying in contact with the booked acts, making a performance schedule, briefing the acts prior to the event and managing the act’s during the events;
    • Ticket management, sending tickets, refunds etc.
    • Food management (managing the food trucks and being the person of contact for them at and prior to the event);
    • Accreditation management;
    • Liaison for the volunteers;
    • Helping with the preparations during the build and break of the event on-site;
  • Getting a chance to learn or see everything from A to Z around the organization of events; 
  • Working with Excel;
  • Not being a typical intern. You will be fully involved in the organization, so no coffee making for others;
  • Working in a team with like-minded young people! 

At Wonderland Festival (& Verknipt) we love giving interns the chance to gain experience in the event industry! If we have open vacancies for internships, we will announce them on the Verknipt website. If there are no open spots, we will also not accept internship applications.
